“Call me to Freedom” was the theme of Université Antonine’s (UA) inaugural Mass presided by Fr. Abbot Maroun Abou Jaoude, Superior General of Antonine Order and UA Chancellor, accompanied by Fr. Joseph Bou Raad, Vice Superior General, and UA’s President, Fr. Michel Jalakh. The mass was held on October 24 at the Lady of Seeds Chapel - Campus of Hadat-Baabda, in the presence of the Antonine Fathers’ community at UA, Vice Presidents, Deans, Directors, Faculty and Administrative staff, and students. In his homily, Fr. Abbot Abou Jaoude emphasized on the role, mission and spirituality of the University and its responsibilities as a Catholic institution towards its students. Moreover, he invited students to play a major role in building the nation and urged them to "listen", live their faith and always seek the truth. In his speech, Fr. Jalakh expressed his gratitude to UA’s outgoing administration and reaffirmed the university’s core mission in being at the service of all its students, thus developing the appropriate strategy and tools for their knowledge and aspirations.
